I have just started a new job and the default super plan is not Media Super, however, I would like to retain Media Super as my preferred option. My new employer has asked for proof of identity from Media Super, in the form of a letter (verifying their authenticity). Is this a common request from employers and can I obtain some form of confirmation from Media Super? - Nigel
With Super Choice, most Australians are eligible to choose which super fund their employer pays their contributions to. Choosing to have your contributions go to Media Super at your new employer is very easy. Simply complete our blue Member standard choice form, available at www.mediasuper.com.au/forms and give it to your employer. Page 4 of this form is our ‘Complying fund letter' - the proof of identity your employer will be referring to.
