I am a Media Super member who is about to do some casual contract work in the university sector. I have requested that my super be paid into my Media Super account but my employer says they are not obliged to do so and that they will open up a UniSuper account for me. I don't want this account to be opened and consider it absurd that I should have to when I have an existing super fund. My question is can they force me to open that account or does the law support me in wanting to use my Media Super account? - George
Most employees are eligible to choose their super fund but there are some limited exceptions.
