Strong returns continue through May

22 Jun 2017 By Media Super Team

As the end of the financial year draws near, Media Super is continuing to deliver strong returns for our members, placing our super and pension returns in the first quartile of Australian super funds.*

Our Balanced (MySuper) option – in which most members are invested – returned 11.36%^ for the financial year to 31 May 2017, ahead of the median return of 10.31%.*

The pension Balanced investment option also continues to perform strongly, returning 12.31%^ for the financial year to 31 May 2017, ahead of the median return of 10.97%.**

We continue to be cautiously optimistic that we will maintain our strong, first-quartile performance for the financial year.

Media Super’s Balanced (MySuper) option is well diversified across shares (Australian and international), property, infrastructure, fixed interest and cash investments, as well as various alternative investments such as our film financing fund.

By investing in our Balanced (MySuper) investment option you also have added peace-of-mind knowing we have portfolio insurance in place, a mechanism designed to reduce the impact of losses if share markets fall heavily. We are one of the few funds that has this type of insurance in place.

Performance information for other investment options is also available for super and pension

Over the past three years we have worked to enhance our investment strategy and significantly improved our performance, and we’re confident we’ve got the right investment strategy to maximise your returns over the long term.
