Watch our EOFY investment update

I'm here at our new Cbus Property development on Castlereagh Street in Sydney above the historic David Jones building.

This is just one example of how we invest for members. Hundreds of our members helped bring this project to life, working on one of the very assets designed to support their retirement outcomes.

I'm pleased to report that we've delivered solid returns over the last 12 months for our Growth(My Super) default option and also our popular High Growth and Indexed Diversified options.

Our long term approach matters especially when markets are unsettled and there was no shortage of volatility this year.

Global markets fell sharply at times before recovering in the months that followed.

Through it all, our focus stayed the same, to deliver strong long term outcomes for you our members. Shares once again performed well and not just in the US.

This year we saw significant growth in emerging markets, particularly for tech stocks linked to AI.

Infrastructure and property have been real standouts. And after a few tougher years, property's been on a clear upward trajectory which shows the value of our disciplined approach.

Because super is about more than one year, it's about holding quality assets that can grow and contribute to members' outcomes over the long term.

In Melbourne, 435 Bourke Street reached a major milestone and is due for completion in 2026.

Another highlight was our investment in Atmos Renewables.

From wind farms to battery storage, Atmos has clean energy projects right across Australia.

Together these investments help position our portfolios for today and tomorrow, all with one goal in mind.

Helping deliver strong sustainable retirement outcomes for our members

Finding opportunities through market ups and downs

It has been another year of ups and downs for investment markets, continuing a similar pattern as seen last financial year. The conflict in the Middle East caused share markets to fall sharply in March, only to see them recover soon after and finish the financial year strongly.

Shares once again performed well, and not just in the US. This year we saw significant growth in emerging markets, particularly for tech stocks linked to AI.

Infrastructure and private equity have also been real standouts. And, after a few tougher years, property’s been on a clear upward trajectory, which shows the value of our disciplined approach.

Staying invested for the long-term matters

Over more than four decades, we’ve seen many market cycles. Share market falls, recessions and periods of unusually strong returns. While the way we invest has evolved, our long-term investment approach has been consistent, and we remain focused on delivering the best retirement outcomes for our members.
