Additional information
More information about the expenses in the table below (including promotional, marketing or sponsorship expenditure; payments to industrial bodies and related party payments) will be available on this page from 31 October 2024.
Alongside your invitation to the meeting, we're required under super regulations to provide the following information.
Summary of payments made by the fund
Expense category (2023/24 financial year) Amount Aggregate remuneration expenditure $10,352,531 Aggregate promotion, marketing and sponsorship expenditure $28,397,433 Aggregate political donations $0 Aggregate industrial body payments $2,867,493 Aggregate related party payments $15,081,493 Please note: the amounts shown in the table under Additional information represent the overall Trustee and Fund expenses, which incorporates both Cbus Super and Media Super.
Keep in mind that adding these expenses together would total more than what was actually paid. That’s because under the super regulations some payments must be counted in more than one category.
Remuneration
Remuneration has been expanded to now include salaries for our CEO, all Group Executives, one-off restructuring costs for FY24 and fees for directors.
Promotion, marketing and sponsorship
Promotion, marketing and sponsorship includes expenses where a purpose of each payment was to promote or market Media Super or relates to our sponsorship and partnership arrangements. This helps to grow our fund and increase scale, which means lower fees for members.
Donations to political organisations
We do not make political donations.
Payments to industrial bodies
Payments to industrial bodies includes partnership arrangements which may include advertising, marketing and education services to help grow our Fund.
Payments to related parties
Payments to related parties includes payments made to related entities for business operations, or for services from an organisation in which we also invest, or when a director is an employee or a director of an organisation which provides services to us. Payments also include promotional and marketing services, directors’ fees and board committee fees.
