Delivering strong investment returns in an unpredictable market

Despite a rollercoaster year for investment returns, our Growth (MySuper) investment option has delivered a strong one-year return of 10.29%1 for our hard-working members.

Our diversified investment options (Pre-mixed) also performed strongly with 11.80% return for our High Growth investment option and a 11.68% return for our Indexed Diversified investment option. Following another year of strong share market returns, our Australian Shares and Overseas Shares (DIY) investment options, returned 11.26% and 17.81%, respectively.

What drove our investment return performance

Despite investment market ups and downs, both global and Australian shares still finished the financial year as the largest contributors showing why they continue to play an important part of our highly diversified portfolios over all time periods.

More defensive asset classes, such as infrastructure and property, also played an important role helping to deliver a smoother ride. Global credit and private equity also contributed meaningfully to our 1-year performance.

Investment markets can be unpredictable, and this year was no exception

“Ongoing trade negotiations between the United States and many of its major trading partners, including Australia, dominated the news headlines in 2025, and with this, we also saw significant ups and downs in markets,” said Leigh Gavin, Chief Investment Officer at Cbus.

“With over 40 years of experience behind us, our investment approach has weathered many storms, and it’s during these periods of heightened market volatility that our approach really delivers for members,” Gavin added.
