Media Super Employers

Important information for employers

On 9 April 2022 Media Super merged with Cbus Super Fund (Cbus).

The merger brings together the two funds’ investment, administration and operations. The Media Super brand and industry focus will continue, and members are now part of a much larger and growing fund.

What this means for you

Media Super Employer Portal remains

There is no change to the Employer Portal itself. You can still use your existing login details. Your employee super records and employer data are available to view in the Employer Portal when you log in.

Changes that now apply

You can process contributions via the Media Super Employer Portal or your preferred clearing house, but some things have changed.

What you need to do

A new Unique Superannuation Identifier (USI)

The Unique Superannuation Identifier (USI) number for current Media Super members has changed as a result of the merger.

When making contributions, you’ll need to select the USI of the new Media Super Division of Cbus:

Following the merger, some of your employees may choose to have their superannuation contributions paid to Cbus. Cbus has a different USI so if you’re impacted, we’ll contact you.

New employer number

Some employers may receive a new employer number following the merger.

If you’re impacted, we’ll send you your new employer number.

Keep an eye out for your new employer number.

Until then, continue using your existing Media Super employer number.

Your employees will have a new member number

Media Super members will receive a new member number. Cbus will let you know when member numbers change and what you need to do.

You can still make contributions using an employee’s existing Media Super member number.

Making contributions to the Cbus Media Super Division for new employees after the merger

There’s no change to this process.

Continue to onboard and make payments for new employees in the same way.
