How to contribute

Media Super offers a range of easy options for making contributions, depending on the type of contribution you make.

Salary sacrifice

By agreement with your employer, you can have your salary adjusted according to your instructions and your employer will send contributions to Media Super on your behalf.

Remember to clarify the terms of your salary sacrifice agreement with your employer and make sure that your salary sacrifice agreement is in writing. Media Super has a sample agreement among our fact sheets to help you with this.

Voluntary after tax contributions

BPAY®

As a member of Media Super, you may be able to make voluntary contributions to your super account using BPAY®. BPAY® allows you to make a contribution from your phone or internet banking account at a time convenient to you.

Check your member card for your unique BPAY® details. You can also find details about how to make a contribution via BPAY®, including the Biller Code and your personal Reference Number, by logging into your online account and heading to the BPAY® section.

Direct debit

Direct debit enables a specified amount to be deducted from your bank account on a monthly basis and paid into your Media Super account.

Simply complete the Direct debit request form and return it to Media Super.

Cheque

For one-off amounts to your media super account, you can mail us a cheque along with a completed Voluntary contribution form.

If we cannot identify you with at least your name and member number, your cheque will be returned.

Payroll deduction

By agreement with your employer, you can have your pay adjusted according to your instructions and your employer will send contributions to Media Super on your behalf.

Find out if your employer offers this service. If so, complete the Payroll deduction authority form and return it to your employer.

Self-employed contributions

Self-employed contributions are voluntary contributions paid by you for which you claim a tax deduction.

You can pay by BPAY®, set up a monthly direct debit arrangement or send a cheque along with a completed Voluntary contribution form.

Spouse Contributions

Spouse contributions are voluntary contributions made to your spouse’s super.

You can pay directly by BPAY®, set up a monthly direct debit arrangement by completing the Direct debit request form or contribute a one-off lump sum by sending a cheque. If you are making a contribution by direct debit or cheque, you will also need to complete a Spouse contributions form to provide us with your spouse’s account details.
